Astrology and Compatibility

There is a whole branch of astrology, known as synastry, which is devoted to the study of the way people are likely to get on with each other. By comparing different birth charts, an astrologer can establish the type of people the subject will get on with and the dynamics that will emerge in a particular partnership. They can discover what each party wants from the relationship, how each person perceives the other, and the strengths and weaknesses of that particular pairing.

Compatible Signs

Even if you don't fully buy into the concept of the stars influencing your fate, you may still wonder if your star sign really DOES have an effect your personality or characteristics, and whether that affects who you may be most compatible with.

Astrological sun signs fall into four elements: Air. Earth, Fire and Water. In general, you tend to get along best with those people whose signs are in the same element or in a 'complementary' element. Fire and Air are considered to be complementary elements, as are Earth and Water. In this way, Sagittarius would be best suited to other signs in the Fire element or to signs in the complementary element: Air.

Air signs are communicative and intellectual. Lively and full of ideas, a meeting of minds is often as important to them as someone's looks.

Fire signs are active, outgoing and assertive. They possess a real zest for life, and are often impressed by success and ambition.

Water Signs

Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Water signs are intuitive and emotional. They are highly passionate and loyal, but are often secretive, insecure and unable to show their true feelings.
