Sports Clubs
For those people who don't have the money or time to invest in gym membership, there are other ways to use sporting interests as a way to meet new people and to provide a release from your everyday life. Whether it's going to the races, supporting your local football team, or taking up something completely new such as kick boxing, it's easy to find out what sporting activities are going on in your area through your local paper or library.
There are also 'activity clubs' (such as IVC - Intervarsity Club), which are often set up as a place for like-minded single people and couples to meet up and take part in activities including sporting, recreational, cultural and social events. They are designed to cater for a range of tastes and people from all walks of life. Not only can these clubs provide you with a wide social network and an easy way to make new friends, but they are a great way to get you out and having fun. You often don't even need to be into sports, just be prepared to join in!
