Nightclubs

The loud, thumping music and characteristically dim lighting of a nightclub means that clubs are traditionally seen as a meeting place for bodies rather than minds. There is little chance that you'll be able to engage in a conversation more challenging than "Do you fancy a drink?", let alone find out whether someone shares the same views, interests and goals as you.

What to Do

If you do meet someone you like the look of, do not hand out details of your home or work address for any reason. You should also avoid handing out your home telephone number unless you feel sure that you have got to know them well; give them your mobile or your e-mail address instead.
