Personal Ads

We've all seen them - those small ads in the back of the local newspaper in which hopeful women and men describe their personality, hopes and dreams in just a few words and some choice acronyms.

Unfortunately, personal ads do have a reputation as being a bit of a joke, but whilst some of us may make fun of at them, they can work. One of the big advantages of meeting someone this way is that you're both in the same boat - looking for love - so you can be honest about what you want.

As with any type of dating, you must follow the basic safety guidelines, and unless you choose a respectable magazine or newspaper it might be better initially to respond to - rather than place - an ad, just to be on the safe side.
