The way you feel about yourself affects how and why you do everything in life. If you feel good about who you are, then this will be reflected in your appearance, words and actions. Self-esteem is very much dependent on how you treat yourself; taking care of your own feelings and needs will help you to feel good about yourself, so that you know that you are worthy of happiness.

Our levels of self-esteem are not set at birth, nor are they something that remain constant throughout our lives. They can fluctuate depending on how life is treating us at any given time and are closely linked to our family, education, work and relationship history. Believing in yourself and knowing that you matter will help you to create an environment in which your self-esteem can grow and thrive.
